What a week, friends. Michael and I celebrated our first anniversary on Monday which was wonderful — but everything going on in the world has really caused us to slow down and get into the Word of God together. We were so overwhelmed one night over the weekend from watching the news and being on social media that we just both stopped and we were like okay, let’s read the Bible. Any time we’re feeling anxious, it’s SO important to head straight to the Word to get some wisdom and comfort from the Lord!

The main verse that’s been echoing in my heart this week has been Romans 12:9 — I shared it on my feed during Blackout Tuesday and I’ll share it again now.

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil, cling to what is good.

There is SO much evil in the world – and it is CRUCIAL that we cling to the Lord and look to His Word for discernment and encouragement. Cling to what is good. The world needs kindness, love, mercy, all things the Lord can provide through us. Be kind to your neighbor. Admit when you’re wrong. Own the areas you need to make changes and make those changes. Do not become content. Always be learning and growing. This is a perfect time for us ALL to be doing some soul-searching and some heart changing. We will never get it perfect but we have the Holy Spirit working through us and equipping us to walk in the light. I have been moved and challenged this week to lean into what the Lord might be showing me, how I can love my neighbor better, and I encourage you to do the same. Don’t dismiss His nudges.

What scripture have you been clinging to during this time? I’d love to know. I’d love to be an encouragement to you in any way that I can – my DMs are always open if you need to talk.
