Books I Read This Summer

I have never been a big reader but recently I have really gotten into reading – I definitely blame BookTok! I was reading a free preview of Colleen Hoover’s book: It Ends With Us, and before I knew it I had downloaded the whole book and finished it in a day. From there, I was hooked on reading and needed more and more books. Today, I’m going to share some quick book reviews from the books I’ve read this summer.

Need some cozy loungewear while you’re reading? Check out this post!

Ugly Love

Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover was such a good read. The twists and turns in the love story kept my attention the whole book. I sobbed at the end! So good. 9/10

Where the Crawdads Sing

Holy moly. Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens is SUCH a good book. It got slow for me for only a moment, because I’m the type of reader that likes a lot of dialogue, but it quickly picked back up. Amazing book and if you haven’t seen the movie yet, you need to!!! 9/10

November 9

November 9 by Colleen Hoover was really good too. It is a quick read. My only negative thought towards this book is the storyline is a little far-fetched, which is fine because it’s fiction! I really enjoyed this one and gasped at the major twist towards the end. 8/10

All Your Perfects

All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover was good but heavy. It was mostly sad, but not even the kind of sad that makes a story really good, it was more of a depressing vibe. I didn’t love the way I felt while reading this book, but it was still a good read. 7/10

The People We Meet On Vacation

The People We Meet On Vacation by Emily Henry was very good but a little slow at parts. I really enjoyed it and was actually bummed it was over when I finished! 8/10

Verity

Verity by Colleen Hoover…wow. If you’ve read this book, you know. It is so crazy. It is a really great book, but it’s a little too creepy for my taste. It’s the only thriller I’ve ever read and I can confidently say that’s not my thing. I will stick to romances! All in all, the book itself was good. Incredible twists. The ending left me so confused about everything I thought was happening up until that point. So I won’t tank the rating of it even though I was literally scared to be in my house at night after, lol! 7/10

Every Summer After

I can’t rate this one yet, because I am currently reading it. I will share what I think on Instagram stories when I finish it!
