I turned 28 years old yesterday! In this post, I thought it would be fun to share 28 things I’m thankful for on my 28th birthday. I did not expect that writing this list would make me as emotional as it did. God has truly blessed me this year, amidst even the darkest of moments, and writing out this gratitude list just reminded me of exactly that. No matter what we face in life, God is extremely good and His blessings are overwhelming. This list barely scratches the surface of the things I’m thankful for, but here are 28 of them!

28 Things I’m Thankful For On My 28th Birthday
- I’m thankful for God’s unfailing love.
- I’m thankful for my husband who doubles as my closest friend in the world.
- I’m thankful for my close-knit family.
- I’m thankful for friendship – the kind that feels like family.
- I’m thankful for the ability to travel and see new places.
- I’m thankful for coffee and the way it brings people together.
- I’m thankful for my job – when I was I 22 I was dreaming of blogging full-time one day and here I am.
- I’m thankful for my husband’s job and the way we both get to work from home together.
- I’m thankful for my church community.
- I’m thankful for my home – it is warm and full of love and often full of friends/family.
- I’m thankful for self-tanner. A kiss from the (fake) sun just makes you feel good about yourself sometimes.
- I’m thankful that my husband can play guitar. He is able to learn new songs so quickly and I love to sing along with his playing.
- I’m thankful for friends I’ve made through social media that I haven’t even met in real life who feel like close friends.
- I’m thankful for sunsets. I once read something that basically said, “If you think about it, God could have made it where the lights just shut off every night. Instead, He chose to create the most beautiful paintings in the sky every single night as the sun goes down just for us to enjoy.”
- I’m thankful that God’s mercies are new every morning.
- I’m thankful for my friends having babies. This season of becoming an “aunt” is so much fun and something I treasure so dearly.
- I’m thankful for local coffee shops that feel familiar to us, like an extension of our home.
- I’m thankful for worship music.
- I’m thankful for people who use social media to spread the good news from Jesus. It truly is a light that is so needed in such a dark place.
- I’m thankful for restaurants that serve gluten-free food. Life with a food allergy is no joke and nothing compares to the excitement I feel when handed a gluten-free menu.
- I’m thankful for fall – cooler weather, football, bonfires, sweaters, hot apple cider, pumpkins, s’mores…I love all of it.
- I’m thankful for my newfound love of reading. I have not always been a big reader, but I got really into Colleen Hoover’s books this year and I have fallen in love with reading.
- I’m thankful for movies and music that make me feel nostalgic.
- I’m thankful for the wisdom I get to glean from older generations in my life.
- I’m thankful for doctors with really great bedside manners, who have the ability to deliver bad news and yet still leave you hopeful/encouraged.
- I’m thankful that my husband and my families blend so well. I know not everyone has that luxury, so I am grateful we can do things like combined holidays and family vacations together.
- I’m thankful for the examples of marriage that we have in our family to look up to, from our parents to grandparents, to aunts/uncles… We are surrounded by awesome husband and wife role models.
- I’m thankful for YOU who are reading this blog post. Years ago, when I wrote these, no one but my mom and my husband read them. And now, I am mind-blown at the community of people that Moody Wife has brought together. Thank you for being here, connecting with me, and following along as I share my life (and my outfits) online. I love each of you dearly.
Cheers to 28! 🎉
